California Photos

10/03/2021 (Hemet, CA) - After meeting a nomad at a gas station in New Mexico, living free on his motorcycle, and sharing stories about traveling with my camper with no plans or bookings, my worries seemed to drift away. Ironically I bought a patch from him that said "No Plan Is The Best Plan". It’s wild how the right people and moments fall into place when you follow that gut instinct. That night, I pulled over, found a camping spot while browsing Facebook marketplace, and ended up here in Hemet, CA. Things started off rocky with the property owner, but after a few joints and good conversation, all was well. Now, being here feels almost unreal. It's only been a day, and though plenty has gone wrong, the sheer beauty of this place is hard to even fathom. [Pixel 4]

10/04/2021 (Malibu, CA) - I finally made it to the West Coast, man. After all the chaos – the hurricane in Texas, my truck overheating every other mile, stress boiling over, even arguing with the property owner – it’s been a ride, to say the least. [Pixel 4] {Lightroom}

10/04/2021 (Malibu, CA) - But now, here I am, and it feels so surreal. Across the road, I spot someone sitting on their car, watching a lightning storm dance over the ocean, not even threatening the shore. Just there, lighting up the sky in peace. After everything that went down, this moment feels so perfect, so still. It’s like the universe is reminding me – the storm’s out there, but not here. Right now, I’m just here, in this strange calm. This was the only photo I could get, I couldn't get any photos of the lightning to show up right, a moment to learn from, and improve. Also a reminder that it's simply okay to enjoy the moment sometimes even if the perfect scenario doesn't happen and just be here, in the moment, so tranquil yet so emphatic. 2021 (Scenic Drive somewhere in CA) - I was just cruising around and noticed this lone flower, tucked into a dusty bank by the roadside, right before a tunnel. It sat there, rooted in the dirt, all alone, overlooking the city stretching out below. I couldn’t help but feel that – like me – it stood there in quiet solitude, watching the world move. I wonder if it even cares, if it takes in the beauty below, or if it’s just being, content in its place. Sometimes it feels like that’s enough, just to exist and observe. 10/24/2021 (Palmdale, CA) - I took a ride to Palmdale as the evening approached. I'm noticing the sunsets here hit you with a sense of stillness exhuded from almost everyone and everything, it's almost like everyone is slowly hushed with by tranquil reverence, quietly observing the gilded sky as it begins to change colors and the day slowly transforms into night. 11/02/2021 (Hemet, CA) - After spending some time at the ranch, sharing blunts with the property owners, I started to get to know them better and shared my love for photography. One of the owners pointed out a bull I’d barely noticed before. From that moment, I saw it every day, trying to capture it through my camera and phone but I still couldn't get a shot I liked. Then, one evening on a ride to LA, the perfect moment appeared. I snapped the shot on my phone, and it's become one of my favorites. Maybe it's not just the image itself, but the memories woven into it that make it special. [Pixel 6 Pro]
